All over the world plus size people have been looked down on, they have been stigmatized and segregated because of their weight. This, according to Mrs Temi Aboderin – Alao(founder of Plus Size Fashion Week Africa) is one of the reasons why she started working on this project.

Just this past Saturday, the place to be was Oriental hotel as it witnessed the celebration of women sized 12-32. Mrs Temi explained that the show was a platform to celebrate the designers, women and to generally have a good time.

The host of the show was none other than Larry Foreman, he was helped out by the delectable Titi of Inspiration fm. Also in attendance were Lolo of Wazobia fm, actress Maureen Okonkwo and a host of local and international based fashion designer and models. Lolo was given the “Pride of Africa Award” as the most outstanding comedian, tv and radio. Tewa Onasanya, founder of exquisite magazine and Eloy award also attended the show.

The show would have not been complete without the audience finding out who Africa’s next plus size model would be. Without any doubt, this award went to Praise. Praise was awarded a year’s  contract with London based uk agency, bridge models.
